The idea just pops up, Pia has no obligations for a whole week due to her paid fitness
(work) and that is why we want to go to Arcen.
We were there previously
and the area is beautiful and there is good food.
But we have a guest, the grandchildren's dog.
That's why we can only really stay for the last few days of this free period.
We're booking a long weekend, three nights from Friday to Monday at
Hotel de Maasparel, where we've stayed before.
In preparation, we're researching cycling and hiking routes and exploring what there is to see in the area, as well as places to eat and drink within walking distance of the hotel.
As the departure date approaches, the weather forecast looks quite unpleasant: cold and rainy. We'll see; there's little we can do but wait.
